About this course

The increased hours spent staring at our computers screens and smartphones are taking a toll on our eyes. Help your patients to develop a daily practice to strengthen  vision and soothe strained and tired eyes. This series is led by behavioral optometrist Marc Grossman, O.D. and yoga teacher Daniel Orlansky. The course is a deep dive into the many aspects of eye health and is a combination of science, anatomy and simple exercises to help improve vision.

The course provides an overview of vision improvement exercises from William Bates (the father of natural vision improvement) and from Chinese eye massage, which uses powerful acupressure points on the face and head to help improve vision. The course also explores yoga for the eyes, and you will learn yoga stretches to open up and relax the shoulder girdle and neck muscles so that the head can float freely and comfortably on the spine. This sets the conditions for improved vision, as blood can fully circulate, cleansing the eye tissues and nourishing them with oxygen.

You will also explore the role of breath, by learning simple breath techniques you can teach to your clients to help them oxygenate not only the brain and eyes but the entire body. This helps their "life force" circulate freely, creating greater vitality and energy, and improving their ability to "see" with more clarity.

The final part of this series explores connecting outer vision and inner vision.
In addition to the physical act of seeing, it is important to cultivate inner vision, or the ability to perceive ourselves, our lives and our opportunities with clarity. “Seeing” extends beyond the physical to the spiritual and mystical. In this session, you will learn practices to enhance your patients inner vision which will help them gain new insights and connections to the outer vision of their life. If they understand that they are truly on a "vision quest”, then they'll be on a path towards profound healing and transformation on all levels.

The final session provides a
review all the exercises covered and will help you to create a  meaningful 10 minute and a 20 minute home practice. Dr. Grossman will also discuss the most important exercises and nutrients for various eye conditions.
