About this course

Metagenomic analysis of microbial metabolites is a newer technology that opens new avenues of diagnostic and therapeutic direction. More labs are offering these panels now and they will change the way you assess and treat gut disorders, inflammatory diseases and the substantial number of conditions that we know to be caused and affected by gut dysfunction.

Dr. Brad Leech is a distinguished PhD-qualified clinical nutritionist and herbalist with deep expertise in gut health and complex gastrointestinal disorders. In his presentation he explores how alterations in the gut microbiome's metabolic output-such as changes in butyrate, Hexa-LPS (hexa-acylated lipopolysaccharide), and 3-indolepropionic acid serve as key markers for functional dysbiosis and gut health.

He discusses the clinical significance of these metabolites: for example, low butyrate is linked to intestinal inflammation, high Hexa-LPS to systemic inflammation, and altered methane production to gut motility disorders. Brad shares the clinical management strategies that he uses which focus on restoring microbial balance and function through targeted dietary and lifestyle interventions, the use of specific prebiotics and probiotics, and, when necessary, antimicrobial herbs to address overabundant pathobionts.

This presentation takes gut diagnostics to a new level and Brad offers many clinical pearls for the management of the large and growing range of conditions related to dysbiosis.
What you receive:
