About this course

Hormones are powerful messengers that significantly affect various aspects of human physiology and psychology, including appetite, stress responses, blood circulation, heart rate, reproduction, metabolism, circadian rhythms, and mood. There are certain life stages when we are particularly susceptible to hormonal fluctuations, such as puberty, the menstrual cycle, mid-life, and even during fetal development. Additionally, toxic chemicals can accumulate in our bodies, making it more challenging to maintain hormone health.

In this presentation, Dr. Deanna Minich, a functional nutritionist, provides an in-depth exploration of the seven major endocrine axes, their key hormones, and the clinical signs of imbalances. Drawing on recent scientific research, she links each endocrine system to nutrition strategies involving macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates/fiber, fats), micronutrients (vitamins, minerals), and phytonutrients (such as carotenoids and flavonoids).

The presentation discusses how certain foods, nutrients, and bioactive compounds can influence the synthesis, transport, activity, metabolism, and elimination of hormones. Specific topics include:

  • The gut-gynecological axis
  • The role of orange foods and carotenoids in ovarian health
  • Newly discovered phytoprogestins
  • How mineral deficiencies can affect endocrine function
  • The dangers of synthetic melatonin supplements
  • How nutrient levels fluctuate during the menstrual cycle

Learn how to assess hormone imbalances and implement nutritional strategies to optimise hormone health across your patient’s lifespan.
What you receive:
  • Clear protocol explanations from some of the world's top practitioners
