Dr. Farrelly is an adjunct faculty member in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at Bastyr University California. He sees patients on team care shifts with the primary focus of helping individuals find and remove obstacles to wellness, while promoting proper functioning of the body by using various modalities. His therapeutic approach includes utilising botanical medicine, homeopathy, hands-on physical medicine techniques including craniosacral therapy and massage, along with nutrition and lifestyle counselling to bring about optimal health in his patients.
His main focus in clinical care is on digestive health, including IBS, IBD, SIBO and “leaky gut” also know as intestinal hyper-permeability. A second area of focus is on dermatological conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and the connection between gut-skin health and the microbiome. Other clinical interests include primary care and family medicine, autoimmune disorders, endocrine abnormalities, integrative oncology, men’s health, and minor office procedures. He also enjoys employing homeopathic care into treatment plans to bring about healing.
Dr. Farrelly completed a first-year residency and two years of general medicine clinical rotations at Bastyr University Clinic with a focus on autoimmune disease, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and pain management. He completed several off-site rotations, including an internships at the world renowned True North Health Center, and has volunteered at community health clinics working with diverse populations. He completed additional training in IV therapy, regenerative joint injections, and classical homeopathy under the instruction of Dr. André Saine, ND, DC. He is actively pursuing research opportunities involving the microbiome, probiotics and how they can benefit various aspects of health.
Dr. Farrelly received his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University California, and is currently completing his medical residency at Bastyr University Clinic in San Diego, California. He is a student of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and holds a 500+ hour license in massage therapy in the State of California. His Bachelor of Arts is in Spanish with a concentration in molecular biology from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Dr. Farrelly is a licensed naturopathic doctor and a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. Additionally, he is a certified yoga instructor with trainings in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga.
