About this course

Human papillomaviruses are thought to be the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world and interestingly, most people are infected with a HPV at some time in their lives. The presentation of HPV in clinical practice is increasingly common as many countries have adopted DNA approaches to virus identification and screening.

Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by HPV and the most common manifestation is genital warts. Because of how common this infection is and the potential risks, we need to be aware of how it is transmitted, how to reduce infection risk, and how to treat patients presenting with this viral infection.

HPV persistence is required to cause cellular changes to the cervical, vulvovaginal, anal and penile tissues. Generally, multiple influences and holistic considerations prevent the immune systems from dealing with the virus effectively. Screening and addressing these clients in key areas can improve clinical outcomes, both in addition to and independently of standard medical pathways.

Join Moira Bradfield as she takes you through her clinical approach to the HPV carrying client. Moira will review testing and standard medical management in addition to presenting practical and effective evidence-based and traditional approaches to support the body in dealing with the virus and associated cell changes. The webinar includes case presentation and discussion.
