Dr Martin Milner has been Professor of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon since 1986.
Dr. Milner is also CEO and medical director of the Center for Holistic Medicine (1983-1991) and Center for Natural Medicine (CNM), Inc. (1991-present).
The Center of Excellence in Naturopathic Cardiovascular Medicine and The Heart and Lung Wellness program is the newest addition in Dr. Milner’s professional life, linking his identities as professor and doctor. This program started in 1999 and provides clinical training for 48 medical student interns and resident doctors, supervised by Dr. Milner.
Dr. Milner serves on the board of KoloCollaboration.org which supports women having sustained severe post-traumatic stress disorder from extreme violence and devastation in regions throughout the globe such as Africa and Bosnia. As a board member, Dr. Milner is developing post graduate medical education training opportunities in underserved areas of the US and worldwide including Mexico and Africa.
Dr. Milner has treated over 25,000 patients with heart disease alone having practice medicine continually since 1983.
15% of his patients come from around the country outside of Oregon to seek his expertise. He sees a significant number of patients from around the globe including Germany, England, Western Europe, Japan, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Africa, Australia and South America.
Dr. Milner is well published with texts, medical journal articles and studies in endocrinology, cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, and environmental medicine. His invention of MAP – the Milner Acetylcholine Protocol for cardiac dysrhythmias, PTSD and other disease alternatives to beta blocker therapy, was featured in Townsend Letter, Feb/March 2013.
Dr. Milner is a dynamic speaker with a bachelors and a masters degree in education from the University of Rhode Island. He has lectured extensively for over 30 years nationally and internationally, to physicians groups and public audiences alike.
