Dr Paul Hrkal ND

Dr Paul Jrkal is a board-certified Naturopathic doctor with a clinical practice in the Toronto area. He has a special interest in neurological health, chronic pain and brain injuries, writing and has lectured extensively on these topics which including over 100 webinars, podcasts and live presentations to medical professionals, researchers, and public audiences. His clinical passion is treating and helping people recover from concussions to not only help his patients recover from brain injuries but also created the Concussion Fix program which is an online course and community dedicated to help people address the underlying issues after a concussion.

Paul is a member of the scientific advisory board of Complete Concussion Management, an international leader in research-based concussion management education. He has also worked in the natural health product industry as a scientific advisor and medical director for nearly a decade educating clinicians and formulating science-based products including creating a number of best-selling formulations.

Jacqueline Chan

Dr. Jacqueline Chan, DO, MIM, is an osteopathic physician with more than 20 years of experience as a cutting-edge integrative holistic doctor. She is a member of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and the Institute of Functional Medicine; is the medical director at Advanced Hyperbaric Recovery of Marin; and maintains her integrative medical practice at Marin Natural Medicine Clinic in California.

Total-body rejuvenation is Dr. Chan’s main interest. Acting as a synergist, she combines the tenets of her osteopathic training to balance the structure of the body and prevent and optimize health through diet and lifestyle. She utilizes both functional medicine lab work (to identify factors that put her clients at risk of autoimmune or degenerative conditions) and energy medicine (to assist in balancing the energy centers of the body).

Dr. Robert Silverman

Dr Robert Silverman is a chiropractic doctor, clinical nutritionist, international speaker and author of, “Inside-Out Health: A Revolutionary Approach to Your Body,” an Amazon No. 1 bestseller in 2016. The ACA Sports Council named Dr. Silverman “Sports Chiropractor of the Year” in 2015. His extensive list of educational accomplishments includes six different degrees in clinical nutrition. Dr. Silverman also maintains a busy private practice as founder of Westchester Integrative Health Center, which specializes in the treatment of joint pain using functional nutrition along with cutting-edge, science-based, nonsurgical approaches.

Dr. Silverman is on the advisory board for the Functional Medicine University and is a seasoned health and wellness expert on both the speaking circuits and within the media, as well as a frequent health expert contributor on national blogs such as Consumer Health Digest. He was invited as a guest speaker on “Talks at Google” to discuss his current book. As a frequent published author in peer-reviewed journals and other mainstream publications, including Thrive Global, Integrative Practitioner, MindBodyGreen, Health Radar, Muscle and Fitness, The Original Internist and Holistic Primary Care journals, Dr. Silverman is a thought leader in his field and practice.

Dr. Birgitta Brunes

Dr. Birgitta Brunes, M.D., graduated from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and later specialised in family medicine. Before going into medicine she studied psychology at the University in Stockholm. For the past 30 years, she has operated her own private clinic, focusing on a holistic and integrative approach to treating Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Brunes has conducted courses for MS patients for about 20 years. She is a respected lecturer and has presented in Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Norway. Dr. Brunes has authored two books for MS patients detailing her method known as Psycho-Neuro-Immuno-Toxicology.

Dr. Brunes has collaborated extensively with Dr. Vera Stejskal, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of Immunology, organising courses (MELISA Study Groups) in various European cities. Furthermore, Dr. Brunes serves on the board of the Swedish Association for Orthomolecular Medicine, affiliated with the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine (ISOM). She is also a member of the Swedish branch of IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology).

Prof. Kerry Bone

Prof. Kerry Bone BSc (Hons) is the co-founder and innovation driver at MediHerb, where he serves as Director of Research and Development. In 2016 MediHerb was awarded the American Botanical Council’s (ABC’s) Varro E. Tyler Award for excellence in Phytomedicinal Research.
As part of his educational role, Kerry is Principal of the Australian College of Phytotherapy and also Adjunct Professor at New York Chiropractic College, providing input into their postgraduate applied nutrition program. He also founded the successful Masters of Health Science (Herbal Medicine) course at the University of New England in 2004, and served there as Associate Professor from 2004 to 2012.

Kerry is co-author of more than 30 scientific papers on herbal research, including original research and systematic reviews. He currently serves as the only Australian member of the editorial board of the journal Phytomedicine, the top herbal research journal in the world, and is also on the advisory board of the ABC.

He has also written or co-written six popular textbooks on herbal medicine, including his latest with Simon Mills, the long-awaited second edition of Principles and Practice of Phytotherapy, which was awarded the 2013 James A. Duke Excellence in Botanical Literature Award by the ABC. Other key texts include The Essential Guide to Herbal Safety (also awarded the James A Duke Award in 2006), A Clinical Guide to Blending Liquid Herbs and The Ultimate Herbal Compendium. These texts are widely used at naturopathic and medical colleges throughout the world.

Dr Chris Meletis

Dr. Chris Meletis is an educator, international author and lecturer. His personal mission is “Changing America’s Health One Person at a Time.” He believes that change begins the moment people become educated about their body. Dr. Meletis has authored 16 books and over 200 national scientific articles in journals including Natural Health, Alternative and Complementary Therapies, Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, Life Extension and Natural Pharmacy.

Dr. Meletis served as Dean of Naturopathic Medicine and Chief Medical Officer for 7 years for the National College of Naturopathic Medicine which is now the National University of Natural Medicine. He was awarded the 2003 Physician of the Year by the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He has a deep passion for helping the underprivileged and spearheaded the creation of 16 free natural medicine healthcare clinics in the Portland metropolitan area of Oregon.

Dr Richard Johnson M.D

Dr. Richard Johnson is a professor of medicine at the University of Colorado and is a clinician, educator, and researcher. He is board certified in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and kidney disease and is the founding editor of Comprehensive Clinical Nephrology, one of the main textbooks on kidney disease.

For more than 20 years, he has led research on the cause of obesity and diabetes, with special interest in the role of sugar (especially fructose) and uric acid. His research has been highly cited, published in top medical journals, and supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health. He is the author of The Sugar Fix and The Fat Switch. 

Michael Friedman

Naturopathic physician Dr. Michaël Friedman is author of the recent book There’s No Pill for This: A Naturopathic Physician’s Personal Prescription for Managing Multiple Sclerosis (Chelsea Green, 2020). He is the founder of the Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine and the Journal of Restorative Medicine. 

Dr. Friedman is the author of the medical textbook Fundamentals of Naturopathic Endocrinology, a contributing author of Evidence-Based Approach to Restoring Thyroid Health, and co-author of Healing Diabetes. He has treated patients with illnesses ranging from lymphoma to liver cancer, achieving remarkable results that have been published in several medical journals. He lives with his family in Vermont, USA. 

Lyn Patrick ND

Lyn Patrick, ND, graduated from Bastyr University in 1984 with a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and has been in private practice as a state licensed naturopathic physician in Arizona and Colorado for 35 years. She is a faculty member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (acam.org) continuing medical education conferences, lecturing in the area of environmental medicine and is a past consulting member of the Board of Directors of ACAM. She is also a physician-member of the Hepatitis C Ambassadors Team, a national interdisciplinary team of providers and hepatologists seeking answers to chronic hepatitis treatment through research in complementary/alternative medicine (www.hepchallenge.org).

Dr Patrick is a published author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, she is a past contributing editor for Alternative Medicine Review, and she recently authored a chapter in the newly released textbook Clinical Environmental Medicine (Elsevier 2019). She speaks internationally on environmental medicine, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, endocrine disruption, metal toxicology, and other topics. She is currently faculty for the Metabolic Medicine Institute Fellowship in collaboration with George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is also a founding partner and presenter at the Environmental Health Symposium, an annual international environmental medicine conference based in the United States. 

Lyn speaks internationally on the integrative medical treatment of chronic hepatitis C, environmental medicine and other topics. She is a small-scale organic farmer on an urban farm in Mancos, Colorado at 7,000 feet where she grows Chinese herbs, fruit and vegetables. She also practices and believes in the healing benefits of meditation and yoga, open-water kayaking, mountain biking and mountain climbing.
