About this course

Your current patients are a highly valuable asset, especially if you are a highly valuable asset for them. Join us and learn how to nurture your patients and keep them in optimal health for years to come.

Part of the secret to a long and successful practice is patient retention. Dr Dickson Thom has been in practice for over 30 years and has had more than 100,000 patient consults. He says it takes at least 7 times more effort and/or money to get one new patient than have a current patient return. Retention is a core healthcare and business skill of every practitioner.

Over the years he has developed a system of patient care that gets people healthy and keeps them healthy for many, many years. His patients see the value and benefits they get from his long-term, continuous care, support and encouragement. His long-term patients are also his most satisfying and rewarding customers. Dickson considers every patient to be on their own health path. At each stage of this path they require a specific approach and he details these stages and the approaches that he has found to work best.

Dr Thom will share the context that he creates for his patients and how he helps them to understand the tremendous value of staying healthy. It’s not complicated but does need to be systematic. He outlines what he has found to be the main reasons people don’t stay with their clinician and how to prevent these from causing you to lose patients.
