About this course

The most common mental health disorder worldwide is anxiety and the majority of these people are receiving no treatment. The impact on these people is profound and far-reaching. Anxiety interferes with almost all of their daily activities, impairing work, school, and social life. They struggle with concentration, decision-making, memory, have significant challenges with relationships with family, friends and work colleagues. Modern influences are contributing to the anxiety epidemic including social media and Covid19.

Trauma is a well-recognised cause of anxiety and estimates suggest that up to 75% of adults have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime, and 65% of young people are exposed to some form of trauma by age 17. Trauma is also a significant risk for other mental health conditions and requires careful, structured care.

Dr Everest Goldstein is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a background in functional medicine and sees many patients with trauma-induced anxiety. In this presentation Everest details how you can identify and assess trauma as a cause of anxiety.
