About this course

Why is Vitamin K2 so overlooked when it has so many surprising clinical benefits? While awareness is of K2 is increasing, there is still considerable confusion regarding it clinical uses, dosing, food sources, safety, indications, drug and nutrient interactions.

Dr Kate Rheaume’s is presentation will clearly explain vitamin K2’s physiological mechanisms and its many clinical benefits. In particular, she will clarify the significant role menaquinone plays in bone and cardiovascular health, insulin resistance, and cancer.

There are three types of vitamin K; vitamin K1 (phylloquinone), Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) and Vitamin K3 (menadione). Also, there are two forms of K2; menaquinone-4 and menaquinone-7. Kate will discuss all of these and show us where and when they are useful.

Dr. Kate explores the role of vitamin K2 across the generations; from conception to advanced age. There is a substantial amount of emerging research proving the practical applications of vitamin K2 therapy. She estimates that about 80 percent of people do not get enough dietary vitamin K2 to activate their K2 proteins, which is similar to the deficiency rate of vitamin D. Kate will illustrate the excellent outcomes achievable by adding K2 with several case studies.

This seminar will demystify the vitamin K/oral anticoagulant conundrum and shed light on the different types of vitamin K available to practitioners, including dosage and safety considerations. This presentation will also reveal and clarify the misunderstood connections between vitamins A, D and K2.
